CLASS CHOICES FOR KINDERGARTEN - 1ST GRADE
ART EXPLORER: Stamping, painting and clay to name a few! Like to do lots of kinds of things? Then ART EXPLORER is for you! Your art will be on display at the art show 8/8.
RECYCLED ART: What can you create out of a toilet paper tube or a water bottle? fun projects await you! Your art will be on display at the art show 8/8.
HIP-HOP DANCE: Learn hip-hop moves and a routine. Show off what you learned at the Art Show on 8/8.
PUPPETRY: Bring a story alive through the use of puppets large and small! Work with your group to collectively entertain others. Children will also exercise their creativity by making puppets in different mediums.
STEAM: Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math. A fun class to combine all 5 of those things! Projects on display at the Art Show!
CHRISTMAS CREATIONS: Do you love Christmas? Well let’s have fun making Christmas crafts and learning more about Jesus and when He was born. Join our 4 day party with Christmas Ornaments, candy canes, cookies, Christmas Cards and more.
CLASS CHOICES FOR 2ND-6TH GRADE

FOOD ART: Create it and eat it! Your favorites will be in the Art Show on 8/8. Grades 2nd-3rd.
VISUAL ART: We are going to have fun exploring different ways to draw and paint that other artists have tried. Learn to shade to bring shapes to life and color to make them pop. Your art will be on display at the Art Show on 8/11. Grades 2nd-3rd.
WOODWORK: Learn the basics of constructing things from wood. Create several projects to take home & display at the art show on 8/11. Grades 2nd-6th.
DRUMS: Make your own drum out of a sonotube and learn to play a song together, and perform at the Art Show on 8/8. Grades 2nd-6th.
STEAM: Are you an “out of the box” thinker? Do you love to problem solve and create?
Then this is the class for you! We are looking to recruit a vigorous and excited group of innovators to delve into the world of Rube Goldberg! Rube Goldberg was a cartoonist known for creating/drawing elaborate, and often goofy, machines that accomplished simple tasks in way “over the top” ways. In this class, we will step into the shoes of this creative thinker, and create inventions of our own! Grades 3rd-6th.

JEWELRY: Explore different materials and learn basic jewelry making skills. Jewelry will be on display in the Art Show on 8/8. Grades 3rd-6th.
MUSICAL THEATRE: Musical Theatre brings together multiple art forms: singing, dancing and building/creating! Join us as we put on a scene from Godspell! No experience necessary! Anyone can be a musical star when they give their gifts to God! Perform at the Art Show on 8/8. Grades 3rd-6th.

PHOTOGRAPHY: Learn to take amazing photographs! We’ll go over some composition basics (rule of thirds, filling the frame, negative space) and touch on simple lighting. Learn to look for God’s handiwork in people and in nature. Cameras provided for use during class. Your favorites will be on display at the Art Show 8/8. Grades 4th-6th.
SEWING: Learn the basics of sewing and then create your own “one of a kind” creation. This year we will be making a pillow! It will be on display in the Art Show on 8/8. Grades 4th-6th.
FIBER ART: Welcome to the whimsical world of fiber arts where every stitch tells a story! In this hands-on, interactive class, kids will enjoy a colorful journey through weaving, fabric collaging and more. Art can be more than sketching and painting, expression through textiles gives you a whole new way to bring your creativity to life. Beginners welcome! Grades 4th-6th.
CAKE DECORATING (FONDANT): Learn the basics of cake design, including decorating with fondant. Your cakes will be on display at the Art Show 8/8. Grades 4th-6th.
CAKE DECORATING (BUTTERCREAM): Learn the basics of cake, cookie, and cupcake design, including piping buttercream. Your cakes will be on display at the Art Show 8/8. Grades 4th-6th.
4-5 Years (Pee Wee Campers):
Our littlest campers will be doing Pee Wee Arts Camp!
They will get to try a sampling of many kinds of art!

Arts Camp 2024 FAQs
Where is Arts Camp held?
Arts Camp takes place mainly in two locations this year: Mission Church for 2nd-6th grades and Columbus Elementary School on Oneida Street for 1st grade and under. During the morning, 2nd-6th grade campers may go with their group to another location within a block of the church.
NEW THIS YEAR! What are the dates and ages of Arts Camp?
This year, Arts Camp will be four days instead of five. Also, the youngest age for camp is now four years old instead of three years old. This will allow more families to attend the Art Show as well as accommodate the availability of our incredible volunteers. We’ll still have just as much fun and all the creative projects you have come to anticipate!
How does check-in work?
For those registered, early packet pick-up will be on Sunday, August 4th from 12-4PM at the Mission Church. Otherwise, packet pick-up begins at 8:30AM on Monday morning of camp. For those with any campers ages four through 1st grade, your family packets will be ready for you at Columbus Elementary School, so go there first. For those with campers ages 2nd-6th grade only, packets will be ready at the check-in tables at Mission Church.
How will drop off and pick up work this year?
There will be two different locations for drop off and pick up, depending on the child’s age/grade. If your child(ren) is registered, you should receive an informational email the week prior to camp about where to go. If you did not receive one, please email [email protected] for this information.
NEW THIS YEAR! Where and when is the Art Show?
Arts Camp will celebrate the week with an art show on Thursday, August 8th starting at 6PM (program begins at 6:30PM). This will be held at Appleton Alliance Church. We anticipate that most campers will attend to proudly display their creations for their friends and families! If you are unable to attend, please mark it on the registration so we can make accommodations for the performances and/or their artwork.
What is the typical schedule each day?
All campers begin with time to work on their art with their class at 9AM. Then there is large group time which includes worship, Bible teaching, and a featured artist of the day. They then return to their classrooms for more art work. There is also an active game time, snack, and ending large group worship. Each day ends at 12PM.
My child will be absent for more than one class, can they still attend?
Many projects build upon each other each day, producing a final work/performance. If you know you will be gone for more than one class, please contact us at [email protected]. We will help get your child to a class that will work for them.
What if the class my child wants is full?
When we have cancellations or changes, the opening becomes available on the registration page. You can check there periodically for any new openings. Or, you can also email us at [email protected] to be put on a waitlist for your desired class.
What age group is my child in?
Register your child using the grade they are entering in Fall 2024.
My child has specific needs, how can I communicate to the leaders about that?
There is a space to share this on the registration. If your child requires one on one assistance, we do ask that you coordinate an aide to be with them throughout the week. If you’d like to talk with someone further, contact Jody at [email protected].
When does registration end?
Advanced registration closes on July 21st at 8PM.
Do you have walk-in registrations?
Yes! Plan to arrive by 8:45am to get registered on time before camp starts. Walk-ins will go to the classes that have current openings.
What if registration has closed and my child wants to switch their class?
We are happy to help get your child to a new class. Plan to arrive early on Monday morning of camp and head to the walk in registration table to get set up in a new class.
What foods are offered and what should I do if my child has allergies?
Note any allergies in the applicable section on the registration form. Because we depend on donations for snacks and lunches, we cannot guarantee allergy-free options for your child. We ask that you plan to pack a snack for your child each day. Lunch is picked up on the way out, so you will be able to look it over. What about other details pertaining to my child’s group?
One week prior, campers will receive an email that will include information about pick up, drop off, things to bring or wear, as well as other details about the week.

YES! We always need extra hands for a variety of tasks (no art skills required). If interested, contact Jody at [email protected]. Or click here to start your volunteer application.
Are there any other ways that I can help Arts Camp?
YES! Donations and volunteers are what make Arts Camp run. Financial donations can be given here: https://onechurch.page.link/af39. Otherwise, check out our Walmart Wish List to purchase specifically requested items for Camp. This list will grow throughout the summer. So please check back if you don’t see much on there right away.
